Sandy Balloon Festival

Saturday morning there was a hot air balloon Festival in Sandy. We had so much fun at the Freedom Festival Balloon show that we really were looking forward to this. We got up at 6:00 Saturday morning and got to the park around 6:30. The festival was supposed to start at 6:30 and we weren't even sure if we were at the right place. They didn't have anything set up at all other than stands selling food and crafts for the kids. We wandered over to the craft tables and got a helium balloon for Roman. While we were getting him a balloon we overheard one of the balloon crew talking to people saying that they were going to stand some of the balloons up but they wouldn't be taking off because it was too windy. We were a little bummed about that but we were there so we decided to at least wait and let Roman see the balloons set up. We sat down on the grass and had the perfect view of this balloon going up.

After that we wandered over to watch them fill another balloon.

The last balloon that we watched was a yellow and black balloon. Roman and I went right up next to the balloon as they were filling it. He loved it. He kept calling it his yellow balloon. As it stood up he started throwing the worlds worst tantrum. He wanted them to put HIS yellow balloon back down. Then to his dismay they decided to actually launch the yellow balloon. He was so upset we had to leave. He just kept crying that he wanted his yellow balloon back. He didn't care about the green helium balloon he now had, it was nothing compared to the big yellow balloon.

I love all the fun, free, family things in the summer.
