Back to California

We were only home from California 3 days when we received word that Spencer's Grandma had passed away. Arrangements were made for a weekend funeral so that it would be easier for family from out of town.

So, we loaded the car back up, and left again Thursday night to go back to California. Spencer's cousin Donovan rode back to California with us. Roman liked having him in the back seat with him but he kept calling him "Chris." Roman has 2 uncle Chris' so it's easy to see why he was confused. We stayed overnight in Winnemucca, then drove the rest of the way to California Friday morning.


Friday evening was the viewing. They did a family viewing that night so that we could have time alone before others arrived. It was nice to be there with just family.

Saturday we got up first thing in the morning and got ready and headed to the church. They had a viewing before the funeral then the funeral then burial. Saturday was such a long day. Roman had a hard time sitting still for the funeral so we (Roman and I) mostly sat in the foyer and he ran around.

At the cemetery all the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were given roses to throw into the grave. Spencer helped Roman with his. He actually threw it himself after watching the others. The only problem was he wanted his flower back after he had thrown it.



After the burial we went back to the church for a luncheon for the family. It was nice to have a little time to visit.

Everything this trip was quite rushed. Saturday night we loaded the car back up and we left first thing Sunday morning. Roman was such a trooper. We are home safe just waiting to have a home.
