My grandma lives in a retirement apartment and at the place that she lives they had a trick-or-treat parade. So we got Roman all dressed up and went to see my Grandma. Roman was in meltdown mode as soon as we got there. Everything was so traumatic. He was crying huge crocodile tears over everything, and nothing. We finally were able to calm him down by showing him that there was candy involved. He still wasn't happy, but he was at least walking. We got to my Grandma and he didn't really want anything to do with her, he wanted candy but that was it. He wasn't about to talk to her. So we finished the parade and after we were done we came back around to where my grandma was, the line had pretty much died down so we waited to talk to her. I told Roman that if he would be happy and go give great-grandma loves that we could go to the mall to play. That made all the difference. He was all smiles and hugs after that. :)
We went straight to the mall from my Grandma's and while Becky took her girls trick-or-treating at the mall (which was absolutely INSANE!) We let Roman play on the little playground there then we were off for our next adventure.
We left the mall to go meet my sister Marla and our friends Tiffany and Steve at Ikea where we managed to make it through the store with 3 kids and didn't break a single thing. Although they sure tried!
Kaylee and Roman fit in the storage lockers...
We were home with just enough time to make dinner then set off for trick-or-treating. We were tipped off by my friend Reagan that one of our neighbors had an extravaganza at their house, weenie roast, marshmallow roasting, drinks, all around a portable fire pit in their driveway. We stopped off there first for a few minutes then joined up with Reagan and her girls and went trick or treating around the neighborhood.
He looks so cute!
