The entire month of August Thanksgiving Point does what they call $2 Tuesdays. You can go to either the gardens, dinosaur museum, or Farm Country for just $2 per person. Last year we went to the Farm Country with some friends and it really wasn't too crowded. This year we decided to go to the Children's Discovery Gardens with my sister Becky and her girls Kaylee and Gabby.
The plan was to get there just before 10:00 A.M. when they opened to try to beat the crowds (some) and to beat the heat. Becky and her girls got out the door in time that they were there at 9:45. They opened the gates early to help with the crowds and said it was not even a line really. We were late getting out the door (as usual lately) so we got there around 10:15. By the time we got there it was getting a little crowded, but really not bad.
The kids were all given a wrist band to play in the Noah's Ark splash area. Kaylee and Gabby had blue wrist bands so they were in the first group, so Roman had to wait until they got out to go in. Roman wanted to get into the ark. He climbed right up and was knocking on the door.
They were giving the kids 20 minute time frames to play in the water so when our time was up we got Roman all changed into dry clothes and we went to explore the Discovery Gardens.
The Discovery Gardens have all sorts of cool areas for the kids to play. There was a lighthouse that the kids went in. They climbed a little ladder up to the second level where they were able to look out the windows. Roman wasn't quite tall enough to see out the windows by himself. Kaylee tried to lift him up to see me out the window, but I never saw him. 
Next we went to a little water garden area where we bought some fish food and the kids were able to feed the fish. The fish that were up close to the edge were already full it seemed so we started throwing it further out to the fishes that were still hungry.
After that we found some fun little play areas that were just barely off the path that the kids went into to play and build.
On the way back to the car we saw this little tiny door. Roman went up and knocked on it...no one answered.

It was really not too crowded. We stayed a few steps ahead of the crowd. We would let the kids play in an area and just as it would start to get busy we would head onto the next area. We stayed for about 2 hours which seemed just about right.
