Fun Family Reunion at the Lake

Every year my Uncle Dennis plans an amazing family reunion for my mom's side of the family (my aunts, uncles, cousins, and cousin's kids.) They are always so much fun, and this year was no exception. Every year until this year the reunion was at the park near where my mom and her siblings grew up. This year they decided to do something different. The reunion was at Pineview Reservoir. They rented a pontoon boat that they had a tube with and 2 wave runners. And of course, just the water was enough to keep the kids busy.

We told Roman yesterday that we were going to go to the lake today. He woke up at 6:30 this morning. The first thing he said (after he told us that he needed to go to the bathroom) was that he wanted to go to the lake. He had a hard time waiting to go. We went this afternoon and the first thing that Roman and Spencer did was go out on the boat (that was what Roman REALLY wanted to do).

After they got off the boat, it took Spencer a bit to convince Roman it was okay to play in the water. Once he saw how much fun the other kids were having in the water, he decided it was okay and by the end he didn't want to get out.

Once Roman had warmed up to the idea of being in the water Spencer talked Roman into going out on the wave runner too. I wasn't sure what he would think of it when they actually got out but I was surprised how much he LOVED it. Spencer said he just wanted to go around and around in circles.


They all played hard then it was time for dinner. As always Dennis had it catered, ribs, chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, the works. It was delicious! As soon as Roman was finished eating he wanted to go right back in the water. We let him play until almost bedtime and brought home a very happy, very tired little boy!
