Draper Days and a Water Party

Yesterday we woke up bright and early to go to Draper Days. We were so excited, they had a pancake breakfast, parade, kids crafts and play areas, and even helicopter rides (for a fee). We were there at 7:30 to stake out our place for the parade and to go over for the pancake breakfast. We found a great place for the parade, set up out things then went to eat breakfast.

By the time we make our way back to our parade place the parade should have been starting in about 1/2 hour. It probably did start right around then but we were almost at the end of the parade route.

About an hour later the parade got to us! The kids were so excited!

By the time the parade was about 1/2 over the sun was getting higher and it was getting HOT! For those of you that are used to temperatures in the 100's you can laugh but it was our first day in the 100's this year and it was HOT! (it was 102)

By the time we had seem about 75 parade entries we were ready to find some place with air conditioning. We didn't even make it over for the kids crafts and the vendor booths, we didn't even find out how much the helicopter rides were. He hurried home to a nice air conditioned house and let Roman take a much needed nap!

As soon as Roman woke up from his nap we went to my parents house for a water party hosted by Aunt Marla. Marla bought a slip-n-slide and pool and all sorts of fun water things last year and they had a crazy fun water party that we missed because we were out of town. Roman was nervous about it at first but as soon as the others were getting into the water fun he was all about it. We had a hard time getting him out of the water when it was time for us to go. It was the perfect day to cool off in the water too.
