When we got there we sat down on a bench by the little fishing pond to eat our lunch (even though it was oh around 3 in the afternoon) We sat watching them prep the area for fishing. We went and looked at the information and it was free.
So when Becky and her girls got there we took the three kids and had to listen to fishing safety and just basics on how to fish (which was informative since I have never been fishing). We tried, and tried, but the fish kept stealing our bait and not getting caught, so we gave up. Roman didn't care that he didn't catch a fish, they gave him a little pamphlet about fishing safety, a pin that said "Take me fishing" and a pencil. He loved them.
Next we went and saw the animals.
After we were done looking at the animals, we took Roman, Kaylee and Gabby to ride the pony ride.
We convinced Becky and her girls to do one last thing with us before they went to get dinner (because they were starving.) We went to the "Helping Hands on the Farm" together. The kids are able to get grain to feed the cow (put corn in a little baggie) , feed the cow (a plastic cow the corn), milk the cow (the plastic cow), gather fruit (plastic fruit), plant and harvest vegetables (again not real), groom the sheep (they just brushed it then picked up a little piece of wool from a basket), drive the tractor (trike) around, deliver their foods to the farmers market, get paid (play money) and use the money to buy a treat (a real treat! Roman got fruit snacks).
Becky, Marla, and Becky's girls went to find food and we let Roman have a chance to see the "Diggers." Roman LOVES "Diggers" so he was just about in heaven playing on all the equipment.
Roman didn't want to leave, but it was a long day, and time to go home and find dinner and bed! We got home in time that that was exactly what he did, as soon as he was finished with dinner we got Roman all ready and into bed. We didn't hear a single peep from him. About 5 minutes after we put him to bed we went to check on him and he was out. So out he hadn't moved an inch, which is a big deal with Roman. What a fun, crazy, long day!
